Our Client is arguably one of the more successful Retail organisations in Australia and New Zealand right now and the specific range of quality merchandise sold through their stores is further complimented by their price competitiveness in their chosen markets.

Their solid business comprises 25+ Retail Stores throughout Australia and New Zealand and they are very well established; having been around since 1985.

Their comprehensive range comprises Traditional Furnishings, Traditional Home Products and Traditional Fixtures (like Bathroom Fittings and Lighting Hardware) and, due to some recent changes at Senior Management level, a position currently exists for an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to run their National Warehouse and Distribution Centre located in Melbourne’s South East.

This position is responsible for the “Hands On” day to day management and safety of this 10,000m2 Warehouse and Distribution Centre, and associated Transport activities, and the successful Individual will effectively lead, manage and continually develop the current Team of 20+ Staff and ensure a Customer Centric Culture prevails at all times.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Warehouse Operations Manager will form part of the Senior Management Team and be the strategic leader for the Warehouse and Distribution side of the business. Because of this, you will need to be professional, well experienced, highly motivated and driven to achieve Best Practice through continued development and the monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) that contribute to the Company’s bottom line.

Applicants for this position must have:

• A proven track record in the Management and Development of a reasonable size Team within a Warehouse environment
• Strong Communication and Organisational Skills
• Demonstrated Customer Centric focus
• Demonstrated OH&S focus
• A good understanding of Financial Management (P&L) and how it impacts a company’s bottom line
• A good understanding of key measures that drive a company’s performance (KPI’s)
• Contract Management Skills; to manage a variety of Service Providers
• Current industry knowledge on Systems and Processes and how they can drive a company’s bottom line
• Good Computer literacy

This is a “Critical” New position, and a very attractive Salary Package is on offer for the successful Individual along with excellent future career prospects within this large National Company.

While Tertiary Qualifications would be highly regarded, they are not essential. More important will be your “Hands On” skills in managing, developing and mentoring your people and your ability to create, implement, develop and manage processes and procedures that are designed to meet the KPI’s of the business.
